Braille/Discovery Trails First built in 1961, the Braille/Discovery Trails are located in the White River National Forest east of Aspen, Colorado. Providing an educational forest experience for the visually impaired and others with physical disabilities, these trails offer visitors accessible opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The Discovery Trail has a hard packed surface and is wheelchair accessible, while the Braille trail has a more uneven ground path and is designed for the visually impaired with guide ropes and interpretive Braille signs about plants and animals found along the trail.
